This week, I finally published my book. It’s been a good two and a half years in the making and, to be honest, I never truly believed it would happen.

When I hit publish on the book, I was still in denial. Yes, it was nice to have it finished, but it all felt a little like an anti-climax. Then the sales started to trickle in. Even better than that, photo of people holding copies of their brand-new books started coming it. That was when it finally dawned on me that I had done something pretty cool. FInally, I felt excited.

As I was reflecting on the past two and a half years, it occurred to me that I have a tendency to push myself from one thing to the other. I don’t always take time to celebrate. Instead, I almost ignore my achievements and move on. This time, I am not going to do that. I am going to remember what I put into the past two and a half years, and I am going to celebrate achieving what was, for me, a dream for the majority of my adult years.

And so, I am wondering: what would it take for you to celebrate your wins, big or small?

  • What stories are you telling yourself about your wins?
  • What emotions are you attaching to your wins?
  • How do you feel in your body?

And if these three things combined are not helping you to celebrate, then what WOULD help you celebrate?
